Pilates is a mind-body exercise which encourages your mind and body to work together to perform exercises. Mindfulness is all about being in the present moment and not letting our thoughts, worries and anxieties dominate our attention.
Both are concerned with breathing techniques and focusing on our breath to balance it out and improve the effectiveness of the breath. Both can help us tap in to our inner calm and encourage us to feel more at ease and in control.
In this session, you will combine the focus of being mindful, with Pilates instruction, to help you switch off autopilot mode and increase the connection and sensitivity inwards. You will focus on your movements more closely and notice how they are performed and how you feel during the practice, without judgment.
The session will begin with a calming mindfulness meditation, before being taken through a grounding, mindful Pilates movement flow, complete with deep stretches and ending with a full body-scan relaxation.

Mindfulness Pilates at InspireFit is suitable for all levels of fitness. This class usually runs once a month on a Sunday at 10 am.
